Beginning in June the Town Office will be Closed on Mondays
The hours for the rest of the week will remain the same.
Tuesday & Wednesday 8:00 to 5:30 - Thursday & Friday 8:00 to 4:30
The Office is closed each work day 12:30 to 1:30 for lunch or to attend to business outside the office.
The Library will be open on Tuesday - 10 to Noon instead of Monday, beginning May 27th.
TextMyGov Announcement
The Town of Palmyra, ME is thrilled to introduce TextMyGov, a convenient and smart text messaging service! This service will enable residents to effortlessly receive important notifications.
Palmyra will officially launch the new text messaging system to the public on Thursday, April 24, 2025 Residents may receive a text message from 91896 from Palmyra, ME initiating the service. You can choose to opt-out at any time by texting STOP.
If you don’t receive the initial message, you can choose to opt-in by texting the keyword “PALMYRA” to the number 91896. After sending the initial keyword, you will be asked to reply “YES” to confirm opt-in. Residents may receive notifications for events, road closures, emergencies, etc.
The town’s use of this technology is another example of how our community enhances resident services by implementing 21st-century solutions. We’re excited about this new way of communicating with residents and look forward to sharing important town notifications. Other governmental entities across the country are utilizing this system with great success. Stay informed, stay ahead.

Town Meeting
The Town of Palmyra has Select Board /Town Meeting form of government. It has a five-member Board, who are elected for staggered three-year terms. Elections take place the day before the Annual Town Meeting which is held the second Saturday in March.
2025 Warrant
Michael Cray and Charles Fields were elected to the Select Board. A recount was
performed for candidates Charles Fields who received 60 votes and Jo-Ann Brown
receiving 59 votes. The results were the same as on election night. Good job Clerks !
Jennifer Watson was re-elected to the School Board.
64 Residents attended Town Meeting moderated by Joshua Tardy. Articles were presented and voted upon in record time.
The Palmyra Scholarship Committee provided delicious refreshments once again. Concerns were raised on legal fees,
spent to defend values from 2023 Revaluation, which went over budget. In the end all over expenditures were
ratified and the budget passed as presented. Amount to be raised is $10,466 less than previous municipal budget.
